i'll let falcon answer any other questions you might have...
personally, i had the time of my life doing this
(thanks for the encouraging words savyangel)
i left the quote stuff in so you would know who wrote what...maybe i shouldn't have...next time i probably won't...anyway...here it is:

         Candle

Solarwinds graze her hair
Pushing strands from light to dark
Her lips speak in my shadowlines
Shadowlines of word dreams
From the other side of life
Where stars are born to die
And tears fall from the sky
In ashes wry…

I’ve watched her dance
On saturns rings
Hold new born stars in her hands
And wish them new galaxies
Where they rule with fire
And consume themselves
Feeding life…

The universe is her coloring book
She wields her colors wisely
Shading the dark and light
With the glow of young cheeks
And knowing eyes…
At times I wish to see through those eyes
To know the world
And how the shades play off each other.

The contrast of the night sky
And the bright eyes.

I’m jealous of those blessed
With a glance beneath the surface,
Even though it’s a shallow front.

I can’t imagine how
The pictures were painted
Solely with tongues,
And what a wondrous sound they were.

Yes I’ll admit
I’m jealous of those who
Capture color underneath
Their fingernails
And embed them in the sky…

~falcon
Inside her transparency
I’ve seen her crystal eyes
And wonder
Does she feel the warmth inside her
…Or the cold of winterice shadows?

She resides in a picturewindow
Which reflects my soul
And masks hers…

How can a sun
Be jealous of it’s light
As cloudprisms bend
And separate
Her colors
Into a magenta sunrise…

Someday she will leave the glass
And realize
She is the color
Of a universe
That knows only dark
Until she smiles…
There’s light dancing through the shadows
In its own sense a miracle
To those without sight,
But fallen to ears.

A candle
The resemblance
To something more
Than unspoken words.
Can you hear them?

If and
When
She finds the time
To grace us with a dawn,
Perhaps she’ll reveal
Who she is (?)

~falcon
Like lightening
She holds enough energy in the glint of her eyes
To light a thousand cities
Yet she can fly thru the eye of a needle
With the grace
Of a dragonfly
As she makes her way among the cattails
In the whir of her stainglass wings…

Her dawn will blind
The eyes not bold enough
To look at her face
And feel within their hearts
Her light
As her colors wash away the sky
And turn the earth to glass
With her sounds…her sigh…

As elusive as the wind
That touches inside the soul
With a fire so cool
It burns her message
Into the walls of my conscious thought
With a crystal clarity
As her ice has frozen what her fire burns…

Her shadows
Are ripples of light
I see when my eyes are closed
As I listen to the sun setting…

Her robe will drop
And her form will melt
Into moonlight reality
When and only when
She hears her words
Echo from the reflection of dew
And her dream reaches for her eyes…

Her name
Her dream
Can be found on the tip of the flame
As her candle
Fills the air
With her scent…
A fragrance spread
Overcoming the stench
Others have left behind.

Moving as lightly
As swiftly
As gracefully,
As the wind does.
But with more power
In each twist and turn
Of her yellow and orange body,
A strange dance
We rely on
To give way
To the dawn.

It’s a fierce
Movement that jerks
From her a bitter cry,
Of despair
As the harsh realization
Arrives with the bitter winter gusts.

The nights will be much colder
from here on out...

~falcon
Against the backdrop
Of an electric blueglacier ice sky
She dances to her heartbeat
To await the dawn
And her fate
If fate there is to be

Her sapphire slippers
Glide across the glass

Once again I hear her whispers
Her hope
For more
Than hopeless ice
As Nightskies watch cold orbs
Immersed in a splendor
Only orbs influenced by suns
Can ever know…
The frost came
Trickling in with her whispers,
A sound that echoed across the night.

And unseen eyes turned their gaze upon her
As she was dancing,
On the ice.

Her fear is—was
Raw.
Something so bittersweet.

The sun came only seconds later…

~falcon
The frozen tears of her whispers
Saw the dawn of a thousand blue suns
All the stars she had ever held in her delicate hands
Conspired
To melt her dreams
Shatter the bars that caged her
Free her from this earthly hell
Lift her into a spring
So beautiful
So surreal
She could but wonder…

Her fears like the tail of a comet
Trail behind her
Shedding
Collecting light
To become promises
And a rainbow appears
Touched by her love
And the bluerays
Of her children
Her suns…her wishes…

And from the mists of bluecloud ice
That had held her for so long
That had once captured her inside her fears
Hidden, caring eyes watched her rescue
Thru the bittersweet tears
That had once graced her young beautiful cheeks
Her dark eyes…
Eyes he would die for
Had died for so many times
The number counted by echoes cross the galaxies
Echoes of longing
Echoes of her whispers
Echoes of infinite dawns…

Her dawn
Crowned by her rainbow
Filled the sky
Overflowing into his eyes…
The first light
And a new awakening.
Perhaps the tears were never shed.
But no, there’s dew on the ground,
Dazzling crystals
Reflected by the dawn.

It held a blind spot to the rest of the world
A freedom
To let go and no longer remember
The night behind them…

Well it's about time this one made it to the board! I absolutely love this poem, though a bit lengthy, but I understand why. I also like the idea heavily. The wording was positively beautiful. I see you changed that line too. I think it flows much better now and doesn't sound quite so repetitive.

Bravo. If you could see me, I'm clapping and smiling like crazy. I still cannot tell whether it was supposed to be solely about a candle b/c it goes back and forth. But the majority of the imagery says that it is, including the personification of the candle into a woman. Beautiful image, by the way.

I love the wording and emotion, you two. Great job!!  :inlove:

Told you...this one belongs in the showcase. Bravo!

*mental note...never call angels bluff in a poker game with anything less than a royal flush*

in a way, you named it with this desription..."I still cannot tell whether it was supposed to be solely about a candle b/c it goes back and forth."  thats exactly how i would describe the flame of a candle...and he interaction of this piece...anyway, thanks for th honor *blushes big time* and the praise...
i did change the line and i'm glad i did...you were soooo right...thanx angel :D
SavyAngel
Hey, no prob. I'm just doing my job, and this was worth it. I promise. I don't do lying too well. Lol. This is just a fantastic piece of art. I loved it.

First the showcase, now the book. You already know my opinion about this one. *grins happily* I still love it, no matter how many times I reread it.

Thanks Savy. I'm glad you enjoyed this one. I just now realized that it had made it to the book. *slaps forehead* I guess I just missed it. :)
