No Peace
By D Best
© 2002
Theme - Sad
Daddy looks nonchalantly
with his prematurely wrinkled body
I see his stoic blue eyes - Yet
he screams at me
Mother waits akimbo
I hear the utter of his name
Their LOVE, once solid now gone
Still, she pampers me
Seconds, minutes, hours, days
Time must be grasped
Wishful thinking of Peace and Dignity
Last moments of Pure Hope ?
So we wait - Patiently beyond time
Visions of Hope float to Heaven
Like a Hot-Air Balloon; Up High
Leaving us.. only rainbows..
Vivid colors in the sky
Yet nothing particularly changes
Life is never really Sane
Peace Happens - Just Elsewhere...

This is a nice little piece...you seemed to have packed a lot in a few stanzas...
I smiled at this stanza...
"Mother waits akimbo
I hear the utter of his name
Their LOVE, once solid now gone
Still, she pampers me"
it was almost like a song...

Mindracer does it again...each stanza is a vivid emotional snapshot, but the last one brings it all home in breathtaking fashion...
I'm sending hopes that peace will happen to you.

Ahh, thanks so much.. I was really hoping more for peace between my Mom and Dad.. however it is over now !! 40 Years together they had, it is now dissolved.. and my father is no longer my father ( His choosing not mine )
Thanks so much all for your enlightened reviews !!
