rainrose
I like everything.  POD, Supertones, Out of Eden, The Elms, Skillet, Hangnail ect fill my pop and rock and r&b spots.  Glenn Miller, Ella Fitzgerald, Harry James, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington ect. are my favorite jazz and swing CDs.  Now, of course thats not all of what I like, but thats just a sampling of what I'm listening to right now.
muse
No fellow goths out there?

*Sits and wallows in morbid loneliness...*
Nefarious_Tool
I had to go with other because I like most all music, and really enjoy when the styles are mixed together.  Such as the strings with Alecia Keyes, the combo of classical and Hip-Hop/R&B is nice.  Metallicas S*M albus sucked, they just didnt mix in the music well enough.  BUt, still I listen to rock the majority of the time.  I don't like the direction that rock is going though, and miss the old days when guitarists could hold their own against most any other guitarist.  Oh well.
Mirage
I have to go with Nefarious on this one.  I like all types of music.  Hey Nef, hows the band???  And I agree with the S&M of Metallica.  They need to redo it in studio. :withstupid:
Nefarious_Tool
Band seems pretty slick.  Did you know that metallica has cut some new tracks, using thier procuder as the basist, and as soon as hetfeild is out of rehab, they should be finishing a new album?
Mirage
I knew they were workin on some new riffs, but didn't know to what extent and how.  Thanks for the info.
SemnteX
i like all kinds of music, anything that sounds good and has a good beat, although rock is my fave type, and my fave band has to be Rammstein. if you wanna see my current music list its here music list  (OFI will place a stupid remark but wah the seems to forget that although some of this was on his computer too he got most from me and nick in the fisrt place)
OFI
Not wanting to start a flame war or anythiong again but, u seem to forget Charlie got bleach all over the cdr I got off nick with his music on so actually I hardly have any music from him and u never download music so i hardly have any from u aswel most are music I have downloaded or ripped myself
Lets play 'Spot The Green' :D btw for some reason the page redirects to the main directory so press stop when it loads lol
iamnichole84
Rock and Alternative Rock are the best, in my opinion. My ultimate favorites are The Beatles...

Besides them, I like a lot of the older stuff like Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Guns n Roses, old Metallica, Pink Floyd (gotta love "Dark Side of the Moon"! ), Jimmi Hendrix, Bob Marley, etc.

And rainrose said Glenn Miller and Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman - he's a clarinet god! - I'm impressed :) (well not so much impressed - more like surprised that anyone besides a select few even know who these people are anymore! )
and I like some Green Day and some, you know, Third Eye Blind, Semisonic, a little tiny bit of Limp Bizkit before they sold out.....

etc etc etc.
OFI
Oh yea and whats this? "Unkown - Funny (Masturbation)
" *ahem* yes it is in your playlist after 'F' i think
lol @ jo0!

oh heck yeah!! I love this music!!!!!!!  my friends joined this band theory class and just started learning about this stuff and I'm like "umm.. guys, I listen to this stuff all the time."  they labled me weird, but they like the music too.  We're just one big group of freaks.
SavyAngel
It really depends on my mood. I like a little of it all, though I don't like country.
* R & B like Alicia Keys, City High, and Jill Scott
* Pop(ish) like Michelle Branch, Jewel, Fiona Apple, and Goo Goo Dolls (though no boy bands or Brittany Spears crap)
* Rock like System of a Down or American Hi-Fi
* Techno (nuff said)
* Oldies like Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Doors or Peter Frampton
* Metal like Metallica and Kittie
* Rap on a good day when I feel like dancing
* Celtic music of ANY kind
* Classical like Bach, Brahms, Chopin, or Beethoven
* Jazz and Blues
* Even old music like George Gershwin

I like a little of it all. It varies on my moods day by day. Music is wonderful food for the soul though.
OFI
What do u mean 'Britney Spears' crap? she is wicked! I have her dvd 'Britney - The Videos' and I did have 'Britney - Live In Vegas' ripped from TV but my hard drive buggered up :( it was a 4gb file aswel lol

1. Limp Bizkit
2. Blink 182
3. Linkin Park

Okay, I LOVE music.  I have everything from Tina Turner to Frank Zappa but my favorite music I find hard to classify.

I like Mr Bungle and Mike Patton.  His vocal range and lyrics continually astound and amze me.

Other big favs are Primus and all of Les Claypools  bands.  Especially Oysterhead.

I also like a lot of fusion metal (if thats the right classification).  Bands like Dilenger Escape Plan who I was luckly got the chance to experience live lately.  Was amazing and heavier and louder than System of a Down who they supported.

You can gaurantee that if the music is full of discordant notes and weird timing then is in my collection.
Nefarious_Tool
oh yeah?  What about wagon christ??  HMMMMMM????????????  He is da masta techno G.  Really strange and wonderful things.
The Jackal
Classical I'm weird ok.
Why becasu I have done advance studying and even wrote a paper on the similarities between alternative and classical.  I like it because the music calms me and has been know to cure my headaches.
Soul_Searcher
Had to go with other cause I don't consider rock and heavy metal the same thing plus I don't think I saw alternative.
Plebeian
no, ive not listened to wagon christ or much techno for that matter.  one of the areas of music that always seems to be at the bottom of my list.  guess its coz i never got into that scene or know anyone in it.  I grew up in the punk scene and moved through metal and rap.  always listened to the oldies though from the 70s and 60s.  I will look up wagon christ and give them a listen.  maybe im missing out on something good
Nefarious_Tool
a little background info, its just one guy.  He takes older popular songs from many genres, adds a very very very odd but captivating beat, and then mixes in excerpts from old t.v. shows and movies.
Plebeian
Cheers!

I just read a review on him and he has been compared to Aphex Twin.  If that review was anywhere near right then I think im gonna like this guy.  just trying to find a song to download and listen to
Heavymetal_Dragon
Alright, I'll get it out now.  I'm a metalhead, I like new school metal.  My fave bands are:  Slipknot, Mudvayne, Disturbed, Soulfly, KoRn, Ill Nino, Kittie, Static-X, Taproot, and Nightwish(they're not really hard rock, but they're still cool).  I like techno too, orchestra music can be good if you know what you're doing.  A few rap songs here and there, but for the most part, it's metal for me.
thinkin
where is the line between rock, jazz, blues, and alternative...i've never really found one...anyways, if it pleases my mood or ear...it goes on the jukebox...otherwise it's just noise to be ignored...heheh :D
Soul_Searcher
Hey dakeu if you mean that music paper for chorus then quite a few people on this site are experts. I mean hey, Savy, Stargazer, you, and me. Go figure.
StarGazer
Hey dakeru maybe you need to think before you speak! Just some words of the wise! Maybe you should consider who all saw what you were talking about! I personally like everything except country (some is ok)! way to go SS!!!!

bounce.gif & :butterfly:
SavyAngel
Yeh, I think I'm gonna agree with SS and SG on this one Dak. The paper had no background or research done along with it, and therefore cannot be a valid paper on "music". It was purely opinion based...and there were MANY people who wrote this "paper". It was just an assignment in class. I know the love of music...but writing a paper with no research and only opinion based material does not give you claim to the title "expert".
SavyAngel
Josh, I looked over everyone's paper in class after we turned them in. It's no big deal, I am just saying that an opinion based paper on music doesn't make you an expert. I'm no expert either, nor is SS or SG or most of the people on this site, I am sure. Do not take offense to that...I was making a statement. Nothing more, nothing less.

The comps at school kinda suck...so that may be why you cannot stay logged in. Just keep trying.
SavyAngel
Well, you seem to take what I say personally often...and I am not in the habit of attacking people on this site. Just so you know. I was simply making a statement. It's all right though. Research or no, you are still no expert. I am not either. It's fine.
SevenSins
I like a lot of different kinds of music. I can comfortibly listen to almost anything. My favorites are as fallowed:

Nightwish
Orgy
KoRn
Linkin Park
Nickleback
Disturbed
Adema
ICP (A little)
Savage Garden (Darren Hayes)
Duende
I sense I may be older *sigh* as I don't recognize much of what y'all have listed.

Give me King Crimson and their various collaborators and off shoots. Those of you into harder music would probably dig their Thrak and ConstruKction of Light albums. Jazzers may dig Bruford-Levin Upper Extremities.

Folk, Celtic, Baroque, North African, Central African, Middle Eastern, Central Asian, classical Indian, Spanish, funk, 60s-70s jazz and fusion, rock, early metal, and some 80s move me. I was born for prog primarily.
SavyAngel
Hey, I listen to all kinds of music. Music is food for the needy soul.
Nefarious_Tool
Is that why in your quote fire burns the dreamers soul?  Becuase it's cooking the musical food?
PoeticBlood
I listen to music all the time, but mainly hiphop and r&b/soul.

My favourite artists are:

2pac
Michael Jackson
Left Eye (madly underated talent, her solo album was her heart in the form of music rip)
Nas
The Temptations
The Four Tops
Stevie Wonder
TLC
Kool Keath
Prodigy
Alicia Keys
Nirvana
The Beautiful South
Janet Jackson
Wu-Tang clan
Dr. Dre
Eminem
Dire Straits
Donnel Jones.

I'm sure there's loads more i like as well.

Peace.

Anything that makes me sing out load and gets me going

It changes day to day.

I don't think I have a style, but I'm not partial to Heavy Metal or Heavy Rap music (the kind w/lots of curses in it) but some rap is O.K. I even like Country and Christian music...
~Davidf
thalion
Guess it depends on my mood. One day I'm like listening to Heavy Metal, the other gospel, then classical, maybe even some folk music... It doesn't matter what kind, I focus on the song itself. And the lyrics too.
Dark Seraphina
i listen to everything but rock and metal are my favs.
dinahanne
Willie Nelson
Classic Country
Glen Yarborough
Black Gospel
Davidf
I'm changing my answer, I do like all types of music except the ones I've previously mentioned, but lately I've been listening to my Cranberries CD's/tapes and my B-52's tapes so I guess my FAVORITE type of music definitely has to be Alternative-Rock.
~Davidf
shulginsdisciple
May tastes do change from day to day, like my underwear.

On second thoughts, make that every week.
Tim Pryor
METAL!!!

\m/...-_-...\m/
Scott
I guess you'd say alt-rock lately, cause I've been listening to a lot of Weezer and Founains of Wayne.
iamnichole84
Favorite of all time has to be classic rock.... But I love rock in general, there is good stuff in all the decades, but I don't like the REALLY hard stuff (ie people screaming their heads off).
Project XIII
Killswitch Engage
In Flames
Soilwork
Sevendust
Tool
etc.
Fabregasly Cescy
Whatever tickles my fancy - it's not always the same thing. Mostly I like poppy rock and R&B, but I'm partial to a bit of heavier rock, some soul, rap, a bit of jazz... Catch me in a good mood and I'll like pop cheese, too.
