Silver blinds bind the golden lights
darkening the 5 by 5 square.
My troglodyte heart beats
dappled by the meticulous pumping
of yesterdays beer.
"Show some decorum" She advised
"Sit up! Look sharp" He intervened
Diffident in my cupidity,
creeping with a slight umbrage;
the altogether familiar feeling
of an ubiquitous mephitic sense...
of a brewing fart.
With the winsome seconds
and halcyon minutes gone,
I grew ashamed with the pursuing
senseless ennui.
An irrupting awareness,
thoughts of departure entered my head.
Fight or flight?
Until a potential confrere appeared from
nowhere to shake my lissom digits.
His roseate features,
a beau ideal if you will,
encouraged my histrionic imagination...
errantly supine in my malversation
..."grace & aplomb" repeat 3 times.
"So what made you apply for this position"
Position..Position!
The mind turns wearily flagitous,
The underwear somewhat deliquesced
into a small puddle on the ikea inspired knock-off chair.
"Do you have a firm grasp of figures?"
Dilated pupils and heaving chest.
4am curry processing in the stomach.
A tenet that could only be answered by
"I'd like a firm grasp on yours"
4 forced smiles,
3 subtle show of breasts,
2 hearty guffaws and 10 pleonastic stages later,
we stood to part our ways.
My wandering mind excused itself
while he continues to
perorate
pontificate
and bombast
in pure lofty fustian.
I, myself prefer the laconic way of life.

Ha ha! Quite bombastic, my dear Kate! Aside from a few subtly gauce phrases, this would work great in a classroom on the importance of vocabulary and the offenses elicited when one thesaurusizes a bit too much :)
Very enjoyable. Did you get the job? :P

Amusingly verbalized, deftly developed. I like!

I love the title~ such a lofty one at that.
I enjoyed this imagery:

Kate, I think that's a fantastic way to write.
Words are everywhere and what a unique way
of gathering them!
