Reading an excellent book right now - "Love is a Mix Tape - Life and Loss, One Song at a Time" by Rob Sheffield, whom you may recognize from his writing for Rolling Stone and other music related publications.
Each chapter starts with an image of a mix tape and the tracks on it. Obviously, there's a lot of music references in this book, and the storyline is good as well.
Worth checking out if you're on the hunt for a decent read.

Sounds intriguing. Reminds me of a book that Thurston Moore did on mix tapes which was intelligently explored.

What I didn't mention was that the book is a memoir of sorts. His wife died very unexpectedly and it's basically their story (both wrote about music, and his wife played in a band at one point), and his story in the aftermath. It's done well.
