I admit that I am not much of a writer...frankly, I don't have that great a passion for writing, but more for storytelling through various media. That is why I thought I would share my photography with the people of forumchat and see what you might think of my work (if anything)

Oh yeah, and currently there are only two in the folder, but I'll scan the rest later seeing as how it's 2:19am and I'm quite tired.

Those are very interesting, I must say. I prefer the flower one, but none of it is really what I prefer in photography. I don't know what you took them with or what you did to make them though, so I can't really comment.

It worked! haha. Muahaha. I swear, I won't abuse this.

Luminescence (the headshot) was taken with a Nikon digital camera and edited in Adobe Photoshop. The Magnolia was taken with an analog Canon and developed on regular paper, then scanned and digitally manipulated.

I've taken some flack over my decision to mess with the Magnolia; it was a beautiful picture to begin with, but I felt the urge to manipulate it because I feel that photography does not necessarily involve only taking a picture, but making an object found in life reflect the artist's vision. I am not a photography purist, but rather a mixed media artist who enjoys a photography base.

I liked Fort Jordan II in the sepia colors.. that was beautiful.. made me wish I knew of a place like that where to go and read.

Thanks...that's my "fort" that my grandfather (god rest his soul) built for me when I was a wee lad living in Oakland, CA. When we moved to Georgia, he had built it so it could be easily deconstructed, so my dad took it apart, tossed it on the trailer and drove it out for me where it was placed in the woods beside my house. It was great; it was a fort/hunting lodge/gold miner's shanty, with old rusty bear traps and snow skis and toy muskets adorning the walls and a little metal lader leading to the roof so I could shoot into the woods at some targets dad and I had set up for BB guns...wow, I'd forgotten a lot of that until I just started writing. OK, I'm sick and tired, so I'ma shut up now. Thanks for bringing that one up, April!

Hope you feel better!

Gawsh.. I never had stuff like that as a child... it was more playing with my dolls under a homemade barbecue grill my grandfather set up. He named it the Red Devil, and had this huge barrel cut in half, put hinges on it, and chain links as thick as my hand to keep the barrel afloat. The ashes would fall in my eyes trying to play under there, ha. he didn't make the grill so I could play under it but it felt like being under the hull of a huge ship to me. Ah.. childhood. I had an odd sense of what glory was even then. Thanks for sharing, Jordan.
