An Open Letter To The Nannystate...



Dear Nannystate,
I want you dead.
Vicious bitch.
Your prim thin lips never smile
as you slap my hand for daring
to pick up the pretty piece
of broken glass
that caught my eye just now.
(A little blood never killed a kid,
and fuck! Im all grown now! )

Dear Nannystate,
I want you dead.
Ugly spinster.
Your cold bony arms are prison bars
an embrace of suffocating "safety"
that squeezes the life and liberty
from within me
and calls desires CRIMES
(A little fall teaches you balance,
and hell, it's fun sometimes! )

And worst of all
you disrespect my mother
a damned fine woman with the sense
to let me break bones
and hurt and bleed
and learn that life is hard
That the world is sometimes ugly
That the world will eat you alive
That I had to learn from my mistakes
If I were ever to survive.

Dear Nannystate please go to hell.
Dear Nannystate please die.

Everything else may have been negotiable, but not this!

I found myself laughing at this. I loved the poem, although then ending was a little weak in my personal opinion. This was an interesting poem, and I'm truly sorry I laughed. I wasn't laughing at you, I could just plainly picture this angry child writing to someone with a scowl on his/her face, digging the pen into the paper, and angrily reading aloud. It was a humerous image. This is a good poem though. I like your writing style. Quite intriguing.

Oh hell, why not. For the book!

Perhaps:

"and calls desire CRIME"

instead of,

"and calls desires Crimes"

Other than that, what a bitch to steal a childhood.
